About Sherian

Imagine this…….You are 20 years old, and you wake up at 5:00 AM to teach an exercise class before going to college. You learn that your photo is in the local newspaper! After the exercise class, you get dressed, get the paper, and drive to school. As you drive, you glance down at the paper, notice your photo, and start criticizing it. “I should have looked at the camera and smiled,” “My hair looked awful,” and “Are my thighs really that big!?” You look up just in time to see that you are driving 45 mph straight into a big tree! You close your eyes and feel the cold glass windshield smash against your face. You’re suddenly strapped into an ambulance and being transported to the emergency room. You lay there wondering if you can move and what your life would be like without movement. After they stitch up your face, you ask to go to the restroom. The doctor replies, “Sure, but whatever you do, do not look in the mirror!” You go to the bathroom, take a deep breath, and look in the mirror. You see your bloody and mangled face. This story is about me and the driving force behind the creation of Best Self.

I viewed this event as a humble “awakening,” steering me towards a roadmap for trauma and post-traumatic growth. I dug deeper and asked questions such as, “Why is mental health important?” and “How does lifestyle affect my mood?”

It became clear that I valued what exercise and a healthy lifestyle did for my mind and my mood! From there, I pursued a Master’s Degree in Psychology, a minor in Holistic Health Education, and I earned my Marriage and Family Counseling License.

Meanwhile, my passion for wellness grew stronger and stronger. I found myself with one foot firmly planted in the wellness world and one foot deeply rooted in the therapeutic world. I noticed that each of my worlds has many benefits and I am bringing them together so that people can release their trauma, retrain their nervous systems, and develop a healthy vibrant lifestyle.

My name is Sherian Lee (she/her), and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 36851), ACE Certified Wellness Coach (W51474), and ADHD Coach in Silicon Valley. I have advanced certifications in Process Psychotherapy, where I spent three years training behind a one-way mirror with a team of experts in my ear – coaching my counseling skills. I am certified in Brainspotting, Expansion Brainspotting, and Sports Brainspotting which allows your brain to release and heal the root of the issue. I am trained in psych nutrition, ecotherapy, sleep, and HeartMath biofeedback to regulate and train your nervous system. I enjoy combining my specialties to help individuals, couples, teens, and small groups with issues related to:

In addition to my Best Self, LLC practice, I am happily married and the mother of two young adult daughters who were raised without daycare. I love to learn about the brain, neurobiology, the nervous system, the gut microbe, epigenetics, and neuroplasticity. I am the author of the soon to be published book, Remodel Your Brain. I have over twenty-five years of experience facilitating a wide variety of psychoeducation groups such as Assertiveness, ADHD, Anger, Anxiety, Couples Communication, Depression, Mind-Body Stress Reduction, Sleep Better, Meditation, Motivating Change, Weight Management, and the Survive and Thrive program for Cancer Survivors.

Maya Angelou's words resonate with me:

“People won’t remember what you told them, they will remember the space you held for them and how you made them feel.” This is my calling—to help you feel seen, heard, and regulated, guiding you towards a healthier life and a calmer state of mind. I am passionate about helping people be their best, and it’s a dream come true to have the honor to guide your Best Self journey.”
